Leitat is a technological centre specialized in production technologies. Leitat develops R&D activities in the areas of materials sciences, surface treatments, renewable energies, product and process design, advanced manufacturing: AM/3DP and robotics, environment, and biotechnologies with deep knowledge and experience in technological transfers to several industrial sectors. Leitat takes part each year in many projects financed by the regional and national governments, participates in projects co-funded by the European Commission, and develops private R&D projects funded by industrial partners.
Leitat takes care of the general coordination at technical and administrative level of IN POWER. Also, it is responsible for the baseline of materials, components and models, participates in the optical characterisation of the IN POWER mirrors and in the chemical and physical characterization of TES materials.

VOTTELER has a long term experience and a dedicated development department overseeing in providing protective and enhanced coating for surfaces in variety of the industrial application from furniture and cars to ships, aircraft and even musical instruments. The company line of works also includes solvent-based, water-based and solvent-free products. VOTTELER is responsible for developing a PU casting material for the production on RIM- machines in combination with injection moulding, fulfilling all specification ask for on silver – PVD – layer.

Geocad H2V SL is a technology-based SME which offers design and Construction of injection/compression moulds. We focus on: Design and Construction of moulds & Tools, Design of Products, Production of Prototypes moulds & tools, Second stage services for Asian toolmakers in Europe,and other services (Reverse engineering).
The first main task is to support Nematia for the plastic part design regarding the injection moulds and moulding process. The second includes the development and manufacturing of injection test moulds to evaluate the possibility for serial moulds.The last is to mould the thermoplastic substrate and protect the pre-formed part with a further manufacturing step to evaluate the possibility for a serial production.

KOLZER is a SME with 65 years experience in design and manufacturing of advanced vacuum coating machine for PVD, Plasma, Sputtering, Metallization and PECVD. Today it has a strong and well-established position as a leader in the European and world markets, the existence of more than 1000 KOLZER plants are testimony of this. KOLZER develops functional nanostructured coatings, with manufacturing processes that are ecological, simple and at the same time economical. KOLZER produce systems for industry in order to carry out the automation and feasibility of innovative processes, perfectly repeatable and obtaining superior levels of quality.
The main aim is to improve and optimize solar reflectors in terms of specular reflectance. Kolzer will develop in its R&D Lab the activities and processes to improve the vacuum coating with the strict cooperation with the partners of consortium.

Fertiberia is a leader fertiliser company in the EU. It owns factories in Spain, Portugal and Algeria. The research activity covers industrial, agricultural and environmental projects. Improving efficiency in both energy and raw materials consumption and a positive impact on the environment as well as the development of new production technologies, production processes are carried out from the technical department.
Fertiberia’s role in the project is the development and supply of the salt formulations adapted to the specific needs of the project. Fertiberia has participated in different projects related to thermal storage, one in collaboration with companies specialized in this area as Abengoa and others in different consortiums. In this moment, Fertiberia owns four formulations, one with a melting temperature lower than 110°C.

ENEA is the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development. The Agency operates to support competitiveness and sustainable development and is mainly called upon to promote and carry out basic and applied research and innovation technology activities through prototypes and product industrialization, to transfer technologies, and to provide high-tech services. The Department for energy technology thermal and thermodynamics solar energy division has more than 10 years’ experience in the application of solar radiation in CSP systems for heat and power production, including materials research, techno-economic system analyses, feasibility and market studies, engineering, plant operation simulation and performance prediction, plant construction, and solar field design.
In the IN-POWER project ENEA will be mainly involved in wp7, and, in particular, as responsible of two tasks. The former is related to the testing and validation of optimized absorber coatings in evacuated tubes, the latter is concerned with an experimental campaign to verify the performances of innovative HTF/HSM materials for CSP plants. In both cases ENEA will make available its experimental testing rigs, namely, the PCS and MOSE facilities, described below.

The CEA is the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission, a public body established in October 1945. Liten (Laboratory for Innovation in New Energy Technologies and Nanomaterials) is an institute forming part of the CEA’s Technological Research Division. It is one of Europe’s leading research centres in the new energy technology field. It works to support the nation’s efforts to diversify its energy mix through more effective use of renewables, in particular to meet energy requirements in transport and housing and to help French businesses gain a competitive edge. Liten’s research activities are focused on renewable energy sources (solar energy, biomass), energy efficiency (vehicles, low-energy buildings, hydrogen technology, thermal energy storage, etc.) and, lastly, high-performance materials for energy applications.
CEA will explore two innovative approaches of high temperature storage systems for CSP plants, which are on one hand a thermocline tank with high molten salts and encapsulated PCM (aluminum alloys) at the top of the tank to maintain a constant temperature during discharge, and in the other hand a combination of latent heat storage with sodium nitrate and high temperature molten salt storage for direct steam generation CSP plants.

Magtel is a technology company that applies innovative solutions to the design, construction and maintenance of projects in the different sectors in which it operates: telecommunications, energy, environment, railway and civil works/building. Magtel has 590 employees throughout its divisions in Spain, Peru, Paraguay, Portugal and Morocco. Since its creation in 1990, Magtel has been committed to sustainable development, the ongoing training of its employees and constant technological innovation, with management centred on social responsibility, transparency and rigour.
Magtel has accumulated a total installed capacity of more than 75MW over large-scale Photovoltaic Plants. It owns and operate Concentrating Solar Power 50 MW plant and has experience in Operation and Maintenance of this solar pants. Magtel has developed several research projects with regards to the operation and maintenance tasks in solar technology. In addition, Magtel holds expertise in pilot plant operation as demonstrator of renewable energy technologies. Finally, it is near the market and has information of CAPEX and OPEX of solar energy technologies. Therefore, the role in the project is the integration and demonstration of the technologies developed of the other partners in a pilot plant and calculate the diminishing in costs compared to the current concentrating solar power plants.

IK4-TEKNIKER is a technological centre that aims at the development and transfer of technology to improve the competitiveness of industry. In line with its missions and origins, IK4-TEKNIKER not only provides companies with technological support, but is also involved in generating new business initiatives, which are usually technological and, often, “spin offs” of the centre itself. Since the early nineties, IK4-TEKNIKER has been involved in setting up around twenty new business initiatives to a greater or lesser extent. IK4-TEKNIKER is specialized in in surface engineering, maintenance and reliability, removable energy engineering, intelligent systems, micro and nanotechnologies, mechatronics and advanced production technologies.
IK4-TEKNIKER will be responsible for the design, fabrication and evaluation of the performance of solar selective coatings. Two different coatings have to be design: one to work in evacuated tubes for molten salts PTC and another one to work in non-vacuum LFC receivers (with inner gas). Coatings will be fabricated by magnetron sputtering in small samples to tailor the optical properties (absorbance and emissivity) at the working temperature of the receivers (550-600°C).
